Brazil Nut Milk

It’s so Easy

I didn’t realize that making your own nut milk was so easy. All you have to do with this recipe is soak, blend and strain.

This is a thick, creamy, nutty replacement for cow milk.  Lots of people have a lactose intolerance and feel all kinds of sick when they drink milk. This is a delightful alternative. Brazil’s can be a bit pricy, but if you can buy them in bulk, they are more reasonable.

Nutrition

Of course they are packed with every nutrient you could ever want in your milk.  Vitamin E for your cells and skin. All the B’s. Lots of minerals including Calcium and iron. They lower your bad cholesterol and raise the good. If you don’t eat nuts for preventative health, you must be nuts.

Chocolate Milk Shake

I don’t usually make milk shakes, because I am one of those people who feels really sick after dairy, but this I can drink until the cows come home. Thick and creamy and sweet and actually helping to prevent cancer!! What more could I ask for? I was very surprised with how delicious this smooth, milky drink was.

Brazil Nut Milk

Ingredients
  • 2 Cups Brazil Nuts
  • 4 Cups Spring Water
Instructions
  1. Soak nuts in water over night.
  2. Strain nuts and add spring water and soaked nuts to blender.
  3. Blend and strain solids through fine sieve or Nut Milk Bag..
  4. Serve chilled.

I’ve made nut milks before but not with brazil nuts. I’ll definitely have to give that a try :)
